Coastal Sole is a proud supporter of Ainsley’s Angels of America, which has a Local Ambassadorship right here in New Bern. In addition to ensuring everyone can experience endurance events, Ainsley’s Angels of America aims to build awareness about America’s special needs community through inclusion in all aspects of life. Serving as advocates for providing education and participating as active members in local communities, we believe everyone deserves to be included.

Kicks for Kids is a partnership between the New Bern Breakfast Rotary, Craven County Schools, and Coastal Sole aimed at providing shoes to the underprivileged lower income children in our community. Coastal Sole’s owner Todd Whisnant has been involved with Kicks for Kids for almost 20 years. Since opening in 2017, Coastal Sole has helped put shoes on about 300 elementary and middle school kids in need each year.
Coastal Sole hosts a weekly group run on Monday nights at 6:30pm in downtown New Bern. We start and end at The Bruin (224 Middle Street). There is a 2 mile and 3 mile loop available and all paces are welcome.

Todd Whisnant, the owner, has 30 years of experience in the industry. You may know him; he has been the managing partner of The Athlete’s Foot stores in New Bern and Morehead City from 1999-2017. He and his family took a leap of faith and followed his passion of fitting customers with the proper performance shoes and opened his own store in March of 2017; Coastal Sole will be the area’s leader in performance footwear.
